MY SAMHAIN
(SOW-in)
For Samhain this year, the time in which the world between the dead and living is thin, in which ancestors speak through the otherworld to contact you, I upsettingly didn't do as much as I thought I would. Being 16, you can imagine that my childhood self is still attatched to me, and I was much more intrigued with going to a corn maze of scares than being antisocial and continuing my solitary works.
Although, I was busy Halloween and the day after, the night before Samhain (in preperation) I partook in a ritual bath including Mugwort, Yarrow, the lighting of incense and various candles, and my collection of trinkets and crystals including amethyst, jade, etc.. I inlcuded a prayer to Cernunnos, which is a Pagan God commonly worshiped on Samhain.
This being said, I'm still clearly a "baby witch," and am trying to trasition my holidays to a more Wicca tradition. So, here are the dates of holidays to catch up with! Not only for me, but for any other starter witch looking for them!
- Imbolc: February 1st
- Ostara: March 21st
- Beltane: May 1st
- Litha: June 21st
